Tetratheca ericifolia

A small, fine-stemmed, ground-hugging shrub, that rarely grows to more than 30cm. The leaves are small, narrow, and are placed in small groups of 3-6 around the stem. The flowers are comparatively large, with four rather floppy petals, and minute brown sepals with very small reddish-brown hairs.

Flowering: Winter and spring

Habitat: Sandy soils, in heath and open forest

Distribution: Along the central NSW coast as far as Sydney Harbour. Common in bushland in this area.
