Family Cochicaceae Burchardia umbellata Milkmaids
A conspicuous inflorescence, borne at the end of a long, slender stalk, consisting of a number of white, star-like flowers, each about 1.5cm across. The centre of each flower is red. The plant has two grass-like leaves. Habitat: grassland, forest and heath. Flowering: Spring Distribution: Widespread in Sydney.
