The last time this was update Caroline was just starting school. Now, she has just finished her first year. She started off hesitantly but has come into her own. She has become a conscientious student at school, not so much at home. Her area of expertise at the moment seems to be mathematics.
Getting her to read at first was a challenge. We think she expected it would happen instantly, so when she found out that it took a lot of effort she wasn't overly fussed by it all. Happily, the perseverance has paid off. Grandma set her a goal of reaching level 6 by the end of the year. She did it and received her much coveted potter's wheel as a reward.
She turned 6 at the beginning of November, though sometimes we think she is 16. The teeth have started to come out - 5 so far (one swallowed).
As well as T-ball, tennis and swimming she continues to do gymnastics which she is enjoying enough to move to the 2-hour class next year. She was awarded the "Most Conscientious" trophy this year of which she is very proud.
She is still craft mad and recently made a bead necklace for mummy. There are always textas, bits of paper and sticky tape strewn across her room.
We had to donate our second guinea pig to the 'euthanasia' family and Caroline was a bit upset about it. She still has Smudge, but he doesn't really get as much attention as he should. She likes the theory of pets.
She is now on holidays until February and gearing up for Christmas. The tree is up and the presents are collecting the bottom of the tree. Santa is no longer a contributor as that cat is now out of the bag. I think she saw the gaps in logic about there being no fairies, no Easter bunny but there was a Santa....
Caroline is still a very strong personality and impresses everyone she come in contact with.
