ABOUT EDEN
Eden is located on the South East Coast of Australia in the State of New South Wales and is the Southern gateway to the Sapphire Coast. It is set amongst rugged hills, sandy beaches and the crystal clear waters of the Tasman Sea.
Eden is approximately 720km East of Melbourne and 480km South of Sydney.
Surrounded by the Ben Boyd National Park, Eden began as a thriving Whaling Town, before Tuna Fishing and the Timber Industry became the mainstay after Whaling became unpopular. Eden was once the home of the Greenseas Tuna Cannery. Since its closure, the area now relies heavily on the Timber industry and the growing Tourism and Recreational Fishing scene. Eden is still one of the main suppliers of fresh ocean products to the Sydney & Melbourne Fish Markets.
The town and general area is fast becoming a very popular destination as both a tourist area and as a big game and sport fishing destination with lots to offer all concerned.
The township overlooks the safe
harbour of Twofold Bay, which is approximately 3100ha in size with an entrance
of over 4km in width and 35m in depth allowing for easy and safe access to
sea.
