Cassandra

So, the following day, under the guise of looking for kitchen appliances, I just happened to steer my husband off the beaten track a bit toward the nursery by the station. And there, on the corner as, promised was the one I had hoped to find. She had that magnificent translucent skin that Norman loved so much,  smooth rounded shoulders and the most magnificent butt you've ever seen. My husband put up no resistance so we loaded her onto the backseat of the car and  home we went, with our newest addition to the family.  Now if you've read any of my pages on Norman Lindsay you may remember his fascination for a painting titled Ajax and Cassandra, painted by Solomon J Solomon. So, I named her after the inspiring painting - Cassandra -despite the fact that my Cassandra bore absolutely no resemblance to his Cassandra, at all.

Below are two images of  her in her glory.

The scene so far...

I felt it was really starting to take shape

So Lucy, Cass and I shared and enjoyed life together for the next few weeks.  Me, constantly watering due to the heat and them, constantly being relocated. I searched for more lattice and could only find two very tacky bits from a well known hardware store that overcharged me considering the state they were in. However I did what I could with what I had and will eventually replace some of it. Hopefully before I have to do that my climbing plants will have covered the whole fence anyway and I won't have to spend any more money on something that is eventually not going to be seen.
