There is an ample supply of software for producing professional graphs.  Commercial software such as Microsoft Word, Excel and SPSS can produce excellent graphs that can be easily imported into word processing documents and reports.  All the main spreadsheet programs such as Lotus, Quattro etc include excellent graphing software

SPSS
An excellent, comprehensive and user friendly statistical package which originated as a survey analysis package.  A wide range of statistics, tables and graphs.

EXCEL: Spreadsheet
Part of the Microsoft Office pacakge.  Most other spreadsheets are just as good for common statistical analysis

Most spreadsheet software enables you to simply calculate univariate statistics and produce professional tables and graphs.  They also calculate statistics via statistics functions.  This requires that you have the raw data in the spreadsheet.  You can then apply the function facility to calculate means, standard deviation, skewness, etc. With Excel Simply select INSERT (top menu) FUNCTION / STATISTICAL and then select from the many different statistical functions.

It also includes a comprehensive Electronic Manual and many example data files on which you can perform various analyses (using a large selection of provided data sets) and create different kinds of graphs.
