NEWRY 2 DAY OPEN FEBRUARY 3rd & 4th
This season has kicked off with a killer 2 day open hosted by the
Newry Motocross Club.
This track is awesome now with massive changes such as the huge studder
section along with some new jumps and a rhythm section.
Only problem at this track is due to the very dry weather causing lots
of dust so the track needs to constantly be watered causing the surface
to be slippery.
Starting the season with Trent Casey on his new KX450F he was fully
killing his races until the slippery surface came into play on one of
the large straights and threw him flying meters ahead or the bike, after
not seeing any movement for a while he finally arrises with suspected
broken wrist but result back from the hospital turned for the best.
Shane Smith starting off on his new CRF450 was doing excellent on the
new bike but will be dominating once has the suspension and controls all
dialed.
The serious season begins for Dale Smith but then stops him dead in his
tracks on the 2nd race after pulling holeshot then getting wiped out
with ligament damage to his foot, several days later after being on
crutches -=CRASH=- lives on :P
Jye Whitzell was ripping up the track before started boffin and had to
bail home
David Penrose was doin a sick job out the upon the KTM250F but the bike
had some problems stalling due to a blocked pilot jet.
Will this all crazy action just on a 2 Day Open then I cant wait to see
the first round of the Gippys

FRESH FOR 2007 THE MX SEASON BEGINS!!

COLAC 2 DAY OPEN - JULY 1st & 2nd
For Colac's first ever 2 day open they did
an excellent job of keeping everything together and on track.
One of the greatest tracks I have seen in a while as a partially sandy
loamy track but hard in places with several tabletops, ski jumps and
large burms
Due to the weather this weekend there was slight complications in
maintaining the track but there's not really much that anyone could do
considering it never really stopped raining and because it would ease up
some of the corners were turned into complete mud slosh pits with bikes
getting stuck in them so bad that they ever had to get towed out
On a day where it didn't rain it would be one of the best tracks around
MINI 50 SX @ SEAFORD BMX TRACK -
TUESDAY 25th
The first round of 50 racing in Victoria
was INSANE!!
With 10 different classes of racing this day went off from the bone
stock 50s to the fully off their head 125 fully modified machines there
was some of the best racing ever seen.
So many crazy crashes happened throughout the day because most of these
people haven't raced 50 tracks before and that's what made everything so
interesting.
FMX show being stepped up by Bilko and Sinclare throwing down some
amazing backflip combos over the 75footer with one of the craziest
tricks ever seen!! Backflip Superman!!
TTR-90s wanting to throw down backflips over the 45footer but coming up
short twice and stacking he decided it probably wasn't the best idea to
go upside down
ROSEBUD HARESCRAMBLE ROUND 1 - SUNDAY
9th
This was one of the most exhilarating
races that Rosebud has ever hosted with the races starting on the Junior
track and cutting across half of it before scrambling out through the
gun club into the paddocks and out through an very brilliantly designed
narrow tracks through the bush dodging trees with tight sections mixed
with some long straights.
Seniors were all chucked in together running at 2 minute intervals
between senior classes all up racing for an hour while allowing you to
have rest stops and all up it was a completely awesome racing day and
props to Rosebud & District Motocross Club for throwing this excellent
harescramble together.. Can't wait for round 2!
ROSEBUD ARENACROSS ROUND 2 - SUNDAY
26th
As good as arena cross racing can get we had it! Even Dale Smith
was having a great racing day in Senior Lites B Grade with 3 holeshots
but with the suspension not set up to his weight was throwing him around
alot and increasing armpump so as a result didn't get a first place and
with his brother Shane Smith in the same race taking advantage of it and
coming 1st in all three races.
For some big crashes and still the determination to win the Senior Lites
A Grade was the race to watch with Trent Casey coming in front but with
some competitive racing from Zane Mansfield it was head to head for the
corner but only one could make it out resulting in a crash from Trent
but only half a track later Zane took a hard crash from hitting the burm
slightly off angle and going straight up the tyre boundary and shooting
off his bike onto the dirt.. Quite a large crash there!!
NEWRY 2 DAY OPEN - FEBRUARY 25th &
26th
Absolute mayhem for the last day of racing
with the weather being a big factor for the tracks disaster with some
burms completely engulfing bikes and quads resulting in some pretty
crazy out of control crashes from the quads spinning 180 and flipping or
rolling, alot of pretty competitive racing in all the classes.
We had
Trent Casey riding in the Open C class on his 250f and beating all of
the 450s but unfortunately he couldn't receive any points due to it
being a 250. Jye Whitzell was dominating the Junior C class on his 250f
until a hard crash stopped him in his tracks but not with too much
damage he's back and ready to race for the next round
GEELONG 2 DAY OPEN - FEBRUARY 11th &
12th
BRAND NEW TRACK!! The new track was
absolutely awesome! They had tabletops ranging from about 10ft to about
80ft along with plenty of little ski jumps and also a nice step-up jump
at about 40ft in distance.
There was some very intense racing through these two days from the men
and the women but also alot of very bad crashes resulting in a few of
the races being delayed and alot of visits to the track by the St Johns
Ambulance so many thanks to them for doing such a great job.
In the two days of racing there was many different track conditions
starting with smooth yet clay like top to just pure dust in the end and
even with the track being watered down it wasn't enough to keep the dust
under control but still good job done by the track officials.
Geelong has one of the cheapest canteens that has ever been found at a
Motocross event by me anyway so by the second day nearly everything was
gone

After all of the rain anyone would think
that motocross tracks would be stuffed but there's 1 track that normally
gets better so they threw together a club race day at Rosebud but
unfortunately with only 1 out of 3 rounds of the day completed there was
no site of the rain coming to a finish so the event was canceled but
with more news on Rosebud at the moment it still remains an MV
affiliated track till the end of this year where there will be a meeting
to discuss the open key policy further

Rock The Valley at the Blue Rock motocross
track was some of the greatest racing in a long time as they were
competing for money in the dash for cash. Over the 2 days there was some
incredible winds making the tent at the finishing table top take off and
onto the track which made the 85s stop their race but they didn't seem
to pay attention to the red flag so we had a few crash and go down in
that race. The track was so muddy on the Saturday morning we couldn't
even walk down it without slipping over but once we got out there on the
bikes and started ripped up the track it was great apart from a few
slippery spots, then on the Sunday it was dry as anything with dust
kicking up over the valley so the track had to be watered down. I don't
think they weather people have ever had anything right in their life...

A fully packed race day of the Gippsland titles with anything from
50s-450s and 4 wheelers as well where could they hold such an event? A
country town called Outtrim. Even though this track is very rarely used
its a great track to race, The whole day was just pure head to head
racing with no breaks and this is what we want to see more of, check out
the pics from the 4th round of the gippys at Outtrim...enjoy!

Chad Reed's night started off his bike and behind the first burm when he
took a high line and was shunted off with a combination from Kevin
Windham and James "Bubba" Stewart putting him in dead last
With Bubba dominating the whole race and Reed trying to get a place on
the podium the battle was on for 2nd between Ricky Carmichael and
Windham, On the last lap Windham finally made his move and shot past
Carmichael with Reed not too far behind it could have been anyone's place
1st. James "Bubba" Stewart 2. Kevin Windham
3. Ricky Carmichael 4. Chad Reed
