We have not found the connection, if any, to the Randall family that lived in Gt Oakley.

My findings in the register, there could be errors in my transcripts.

Marriages, Baptisms & Burials, Great Oakley from 1559

[I checked the registers back to about 1650, the first instance that I found of Randel, Randell, Randle or Randall was 1757. The very early registers were not fully visible, the top was cropped, I presume during filming, thus some information was lost during the filming process, it may have only been the first entry for each page.

Banns of marriage between William RANDLE, bachelor of this parish

& Elizabeth OSBORNE, spinster of Great Bromley, singlewoman

were published on 24 Feb, 2 Mar & 9 Mar, 1780 by John Townson, minister

[I could not find a record of this marriage in Great Oakley: it was common to marry in the bride’s parish, and they also must have had children baptized there as it is 1789 before any baptisms take place in Great Oakley. It seems unusual that they are baptising a William after nearly 9 years of marriage, however the family seem to have a high mortality rate for the children - so they may have already had previous Williams that have died. If William and Mary are William’s parents this explains the naming pattern - they insisted on keeping the name Mary. In the register for this period the baptisms and burial are in the same book, so it is easy to make the presumption that they all the same family.]
