At an early age I became intrigued about my ancestors and set out to learn more.  It's been an interesting journey where I've discovered the truth about stories and mysteries handed down through the generations.  But also discovered others that have yet to be solved.

Information supplied on this site is not intended for reproduction or publication by others but to share with family members.  There is  always the possibility that the information within contains errors.

Many thanks to all those who have assisted me in the search, and shared in the joy and disappointment along this never ending journey.

Dear Ancestor

I stand... mesmerised, gazing at your crumbling, weathered tombstone,

your chiselled name barely discernable.

Surrounded by other ghosts of the past,

I have eyes only for you.

You are mine, I have found you!

I feel you in my bones. My blood is your blood.  My cells are your cells.

Your flesh is gone, but your spirit lives on in my heart and soul.

And I am grateful.  You knew me not

nor was I there to mourn when you died.

Then a hundred years later, I was born.

And I wonder if you ever dreamt, that down the years, with my eyes full of tears, I'd visit you one day and say

Dear Ancestor, thank you.
