Some perennials maybe found under groundcovers.

ALONSOA WARSCEWICZII
(Mask Flower)
Perennial, slender branching, red stems, leaves are dark green, flowers are orange to scarlet. (Also Mask Flower in Apricot)


ANEMONE JAPONICA
(Japanese Anemone)
Perennial plant, stem erect, grey green leaves and divided, flowers are purple to pink to white and star shaped.


AQUILEGIA VULGARIS
(Columbine, Granny's Bonnet)
Stems are erect, leaves are bluish green above with a greyish surface, flowers are blue, purple, white or rose coloured. Resembles a bonnet granny may have worn in years gone bye.


Marguerite Daisy ARGYRANTHEMUM FRUTESCENS
(Marguerite Daisy)
Evergreen, woody based, bushy perennial that bears many daisy like, white, yellow or pink flower heads in spring and summer. Deep cut light green leaves.


Calibrochoa 'Million Bells' CALIBROCHOA
(Million Bells)
Trailing habit, small flowers that look like small petunias. Prolific bloomer and very showy coming in several colours. Also known as Perennial Petunia - Million Bells.


CERASTIUM TOMENTTOSUM
(Snow in Summer)
Perennial plant, stems are prostrate and creeping with branches that trail, leaves are greyish, flower are small and white.


CHEIRANTHUS CHEIRI
(Wallflower)
Excellent perennial grows to approx. 20-60cm. stem is erect, leafy and branching, flowers are single and orange colour.


CROWEA EXALATA
(Summer Crowea)
Perennial plant, stem is erect and twiggy, leaves are narrow, flowers are pink star shaped. Grows to about 1m.


DELPHINIUM GRANDIFLORA
(Butterfly Delphinium)
Perennial plant or annual, stem is erect and branching, leaves are green, alternate and finely divided, flowers are white or violet.


DIGITALIS PURPUREA
(Foxglove)
Perennial plant, stem is stout, erect and succulent, leaves are hairy, flowers are rose-pink mottled with pink and white, bell shaped, appearing in erect spikes in the second year. Available in apricot.


ECHINACEA PURPUREA
(Coneflower)
Perennial plant, stem is erect and stiffly hairy, flowers are rosy purple daisy like, occurring in sessile heads appearing in summer.


ERIGERON
(Seaside Daisy)
Low growing perennial, stems spread, leaves are hairy, flowers are daisy like, usually pink and turning to white with age. Ideal in rockery.


GAURA LINDHEIMERI
Easy to grow bushy perennial, stems are erect and loosely branching, leaves are small, flowers are single pinkish white. Grows to about 1m height.


HEUCHERA SANGUINEA
(Coral Bells)
Stem is erect, slender and flowering, leaves are rounded and geranium like, flowers are crimson and bell shaped.


Iberis Sempervirens IBERIS SEMPERVIRENS
(Candytuft)
This perennial is adaptable to most soils and positions, frost resistant. Good groundcover. Stems being erect and stiff. Leaves are dark green and densely crowded. Flowers are small being white in colour, occurring at the end of the stems in clusters.


LIATRIS SPICATA
(Button Snakeroot)
Perennial plant, Stem is erect and leafy, leaves are alternate and linear, flowers are bluish purple, occurring in dense terminal spikes that appear in late summer and autumn.


LIMINIUM PEREZII
(Perennial Statice)
Stems are erect, leaves are dull green, flowers are deep blue and papery.


PAPAVER ORIENTALE
(Oriental Poppy)
Perennial plant, stem is erect, unbranching and hairy, leaves are divided and bluish green, flowers are cream, flame or deep purple.


Pelargonium PELARGONIUM
Many types of Pelargoniums which have very colourful blooms. Shrubby plants with deeply serrated leaves and broadly trumpet shaped. Blooms prone to weather damage in the open.


PLATYCODON GRANDIFLORUS
(Ballon Flower "Sentimental Blue")
Perennial plant, stem is slender and branching, leaves are silvery green, flowers are lilac and bell shaped.


POTENTILLA NEPALENSIS
(Miss Willmott)
Stems are purple erect and flowering, flowers are deep red or purple.


SCABIOSA CAUCASICA
(Pin Cushion)
Perennial plant, Stem erect and branching, leaves are pinnatified, flowers are pale blue to mauve, white, or deep bright blue, occurring in round pincushion heads.


SCLERANTHUS BIFLORUS
(Knawel)
A native of Tasmania, NSW, Vic, Qld, NZ, a perennial plant, stems are jointed and mat forming, leaves are green, the plant is moss like and has a cushion effect.


SENECIO bicolour subspp. cineraria
(Dusty Miller)
Perennial silver foliage, low growing rounded mound, flowers are yellow and daisy like.


Devon Skies SISYRINCHIUM
(Devon Skies)
Stems carry Iris like blue to violet blue flowers. Leaves a sword shape.


STACHYS OFFICINALIS
(Lambs Ears)
Stem is erect and hairy, leaves are opposite and hairy with heart shaped lower leaves, flowers are reddish purple.


VERBENA 
(Candy Stripe)
Perennial plant, stems are erect, growing to 25cm, leaves are small, flowers are candy pink with white edges, ideal hanging plant or rocker.


VERONICA INCANA
(Silver Sea)
Perennial plant, stem being erect, low and branching, leaves are silver, flowers are blue small and expanding tubular, occurring in spikes.
