In South Africa we have many folklores regarding weather forecasting.
- When swallows fly just above the ground it will rain and when they fly high in the air, it is not going to rain.
- Being near table mountain in Cape Town we find that when it is going to rain the animals decend from the mountain.
- The Burchells cuckoo (the "rain bird") can be heard when there is a storm being developed.
- When the turkey buzzard starts building it's nest, the seasons are changing.
PS. Charlie also sent this saying :-
When two elephants fight..only the grass is hurt.
I don't know how that effects the weather so am awaiting further details.
