The Christmas in Australia web page was commenced in December 1999 as a means of showing the high latitudes of the northern hemisphere how we enjoy a warm Christmas day. It has since developed a sense of fun as well as the serious factual information.

Jay Turner & Catherine Mundy have joined those showing the Australian Christmas spirit by producing a fourth version of "Australian Jingle Bells" plus a new song, Wayne wants a surfboard for Christmas which is sung to the tune of "Deck the Halls"

They have produced a CD of these and other songs, so for all the Australians living in other lands, here is your chance to obtain some fun songs to play for your friend wherever you may live.

Wayne wants a surfboard for Christmas
Wayne wants a surfboard for Christmas & more

Wayne wants a surfboard for Christmas,
Wayne says nothing else will do,
You can keep all your phones with their multiple tones,
Your Nikes and play-stations too,
Cos Wayne's had visions of riding
Out on an ocean of blue
So Wayne wants a surfboard for Christmas
And only a surfboard will do

Wayne's been a good boy since Easter,
when the subject of surfboards came up
And Dad suggested "behavioural improvements"
that might reflect on his luck
Now, he doesn't backchat his mother,
And he does all his homework on cue -
Since Wayne wants a surfboard for Christmas
It's like living with somebody new!

Wayne claims he's outgrown his boogie-board,
Although he admits it's been fun
'Cos he's done all the flips and the skips and the tricks
And mastered them every one
Now Wayne wants to cruise with the big boys,
He says there are girls out there too
Yeah Wayne wants a surfboard this Christmas
He's grown up so fast it's not true
