McPherson air cylinders are the way to go on small show cars: Charades, Echo's, Barina's, Excels, Swifts etc.  McPherson air cylinders are manufactured from steel to handle side loadings (unlike regular cylinders) They allow maximum slam as they are shorter than air struts. (Must have enough clearance to allow the cylinder to pass down behind the tyre).

Quality 80mm (left image) and 100mm (right image) air cylinders (rods) are used on Hondas, Lexus, Mitsubishi and other small vehicles where there is a upper and lower control arm coil over arrangement. These allow for wheel tucks and offer around 165mm of travel at the wheel in most applications. $450 pair

Airwaves are suitable for load helping or on a light weight vehicle or hotrods mounted at a ratio. As they only have 80mm of travel i.e. mounted half way along control arm would offer 160mm of travel. Airwaves have a built in shock and billet housing. from AU$961 pair
