Names I have found so far in Haslingden are:
WHITTAKER
Henry Whittaker (carter) married Anne Riley at Haslingden 5 Nov 1787, children were
John, Mally, Abraham, and Betty. It is possible that this was Henry's second marriage marrying Anne Heap on 23 May 1778 at Haslingden with issue Peggy in 1781.
Any Abraham Whittakers are of interest to me and also Whittakers in the Sherfin area.

BARNES
I am stuck at John Barnes born abt 1805 in Haslingden (probably Cribden Side area), who married Jane Nuttall at Haslingden on 10 Apr 1825 - in 1864 it was estimated that there were over 800 people in Haslingden with the names Barnes!!!

NUTTALL & HARGREAVES
Andrew Nuttall married Alice Hargreaves at Haslingden 19 Dec 1789, it is believed that this was his second marriage the first being to Betty Crook on 27 April 1784, issue John and Anne. Issue from the second marriage being Betty, Thomas, Alice, Henry, Andrew, Hargreaves, Burgoine, Jane, Maria and William. Andrew Nuttall was born about 1756 place unknown. Any Andrew Nuttalls are of interest to me.

DUCKWORTH
Anne Duckworth married Abraham Whittaker on 5 Jul 1819 at Haslingden, she was born about 1793.

Mostly my families were in the north of Haslingden around the Cribden Side/Greenhouses and Sherfin areas.

Here is a photo of Sherfin Nook taken by Bryan Yorke from his Haslingden and Helmshore Images CD.
This is highly recommended if you have ancestors in and around Haslingden.

"This is a beautiful CD with over 500 images in full high resolution and also titled and arranged specially for viewing on your PC. The image sizes vary between 300 and 600 KB which allows them in every case to be portrayed within the full screen capacity of the computer monitor. The images are mainly of well known buildings or places eg: Beautiful Landscape Views, Old Mills, Churches, Pubs, Memorials, etc etc. The CD covers all areas within the Haslingden and Helmshore boundaries eg: starts at Worsley Park, via Carter Place, Acre, Stonefold, Sherfin, Rising Bridge, Roundhill, Hud Hey, Martincroft, Carr Mill, Blackburn Rd, Station, Carrs, Todd Hall, Spring Lane, St James Church, Haslingden Old Town, Kirkhill, Rakefoot, Moorlands, Haslingden Town Centre, Longshoot, Victoria Park, Mayfield, Gregory Fold, Broadway, Bentgate, Helmshore, Ewood Bridge, Snig Hole, Ravenshore, Sunnybank, Musbury, Higher Mill Museum, Grane, Holden Vale, Holden Wood, etc etc etc. Some older and vintage Haslingden from Bryan's postcard collection and some old Haslingden Memorabilia."
