Where to find help for researching your Bury ancestors:

First place is the Rootsweb LANCSGEN mailing list, the folks are very friendly and helpful and you'll learn lots along the way. The number of emails is fairly high, which is to be expected for such a highly populated county, so consider using the digest mode. Always be precise in your request and explain what data you have already and what you are looking for. Go here to subscribe

Try the Rootsweb message boards, there is one for Lancashire, and also try listing under the surname you are researching:

Also you will find similar message boards/forums at Genealogy.com here

British-Genealogy.com is another place to try mailing lists and message boards/forums
http://www.british-genealogy.com/

And more forums at Rootschat.com
http://www.rootschat.co.uk/forum/index.php

And more at Lancslist Forums here

Also don't forget the soc.genealogy.britain newsgroup where there's lots of very experienced experts there to help you out

If you find any more places worth adding, or any of these links don't work I'd be happy to hear from you. Meanwhile happy hunting!
