This Australian note has JUST been RELEASED. The note is polymer (plastic) and comes with the anti-counterfeiting features of Australian banknotes which make them the safest in the world.

The note was released alongside the traditional $5 note as part of Centenary of Federation celebrations throughout Australia in 2001. The note was designed by Gary Emery who is one of Australia's leading graphic designers. He also designed the $20 note. The note comes with a BROCHURE which details the features of this note as well as a biographical note on Sir Henry Parkes and Catherine Spence who are featured on the front and back of this note.
