I have written my story to educate healthy people, doctors and medical professionals, and to help fellow back pain sufferers and people who have or know someone who lives with severe pain, or has been injured in a car accident.
I hope this will help people to have a greater understanding of what a person goes through when they have a long term injury. And I also hope people within the health system learn from this and help to improve the health system and the treatment of the injured.

You will note I do not describe my type of back pain as chronic back pain as this term can refer to people with mild pain who live a normal life and those that have back pain which is not present every day.
