Jet Ski and
Personal Water Craft (PWC) Licence
Archie Harding chief instructor has been conducting Jet Ski training on Yamaha Personal Watercraft since they first came on to the market as seen here in the 4th edition of the Queensland Government Boating Handbook.
When jet skies first arrived on the seen, to ride one, you were covered under a normal speedboat licence. Today with the amount of power these new machines put out, training is essential for the safety of all on board. If you gain the knowledge and experience then you will have a safe time on the water.
Since the first of January 2006 to ride a Personal Watercraft you must obtain a PWC Licence but before you can do this you must have a Recreational Marine Drivers Licence (Boat Licence).
On water training is conducted on our Yamaha FX Cruiser High Output, this vessel is the ultimate, just like driving a limousine on water.
Personal Watercraft Courses are conducted on a daily basis and are approximately 2 to 3 hours duration, which include a theory and practical session.
Boat and Personal Watercraft courses are approximately 10 hours duration and can be completed in the same day if you so choose.
If you have had a boat licence for a long time and want to update to include the PWC then perhaps you would like to sit a refresher course to bring yourself up to date with the current regulations. The can be achieved free of charge.
All course material for the theory session and personal floatation devices (life jackets) for your practical session will be provided free of charge.
