WoolShed Ball October 2008

A very well attended and very successful WoolShed Ball was held at St Brigid's in North Fitzroy on October 11th 2008.  Prior to the ball a celebration was held for Bert Gibson's 80th Birthday.  Bert as afounder and long serving member of VFMC.

The Peter Ellis Interview

Peter Ellis (who put together the popular Collector's Choice book series) was interviewed recently on FM Radio 94.1. Peter talks about the background of the Quadrillemania series of traditional Australian Dance Music CDs. Steve Bullock has kindly made the recordings of the interview available at JeevesAudio if you would like to hear it.

Festival Bush Dance

The Festival Bush Dance at the recent National Folk Festival, held during Easter, 2001, was hosted by the VFMC, with music provided by the Billabong Band (the official Club dance band) and dances selected and called by Club members. There was a great turnout of dancers, looking wonderful in period costume brought along for the night. As you can see below, the effect was like something out of last century.
