Hopefully, this page is an opportunity for family and friends of RBI to catch up with our news, and have a look at some photos, without having to download a large emailed newsletter. Each news item is on a different page to save you having to wait for the whole thing to load up, especially if you have a steam driven computer (Hi Mum and Dad, Hi Ollie). If you like a photo, you should be able to download it to your computer, right click on the image, select save as, choose a directory on your computer. One day, when I have more time and space, this may hold all our archived RBI newsletters, and may become an on-line photo album. Our journalistic creed here at RBI is "Publish first - cop complaints later". It has got us into trouble before (Hi Joy). So if we have published a photo with you in it, and you don't like it, complain and we will remove it! |

Simon goes to Sumatra again In July, 2004, Simon went to work in Sumatra in Indonesia again for a couple of weeks. The bad part fo the trip was when he slipped off a boulder while crossing a stream and broke a bone in his right hand. The good part of the trip was at the end when he managed to hitch a lift on the helicopter flying to Medan, rather than taking the commercial flight. The route to medan goes over some interesting topography including Lake Toba. |

Simons brew buddies In June, 2004, Simon held a demonstration brew day for all his brewing forum chums. Everyone brought round their best beer, argued over whether it could be improved or not, and helped out while Simon brewed an English Special Bitter. Kind of a "had to be there, and be obsessed with beer" kind of day, but we all had a good time. |

Balinese gazebo Don't tell Shane, but this is what his ute looked like after Simon borrowed it and went foraging in the jungles of Bayswater. What is the bamboo for? Well, Fleur had this idea about 60's style crazy paving with a kitsch bamboo hut at the end of it. |

Our new puppy - Dallas Yes we now have 3 Great Danes and No we are not crazy. We just think they have a great temperament and make a really good family dog. They scare away burglars as well. Dallas is related to Texas, he is sort of his Great Nephew. Hence the name. This is a photo of Dallas hanging out with his litter-mates at the breeder. Dallas' page has been updated to the age of 5 months. |

Beer can beer keg turkey For Christmas 2003, Simon cooked a turkey on the barbecue. Lots of people have heard of beer-can chicken, but not many have actually tried to do it, let alone up-size it to a turkey. It worked pretty well. Click the link below for more details on how to do it. |
