In North Queensland many beautiful tropical islands are just off shore.
I started my journey at Magnetic Island and travelled up the coast to Dunk Island.
Both islands were named by Captain Cook, and I felt I shared his view of totally unspoiled wilderness.

and Glasshouse Mountains"
Just north of Brisbane is the Sunshine coast and its "capital" Noosa.
Noosa is situated on a river, the adjacent point is a
national park. Behind the Sunshine coast are the spectacular
Glasshouse Mountains: lava plugs of volcanoes long since worn away.
The area has an eery mystical feel, and is also part of
Aboriginal mythology.
