In North Queensland between Cairns and Townsville lies Mission Beach, and just off shore is Dunk Island.
To the north is Innisfail and the entrance of the Johnstone River, humble shacks line the perfect beach.

At the start of the Great Ocean Road is Torquay.  Nearby Bells Beach is one of Australia's best surfing locations,
and site of international competition.  The oxygen is fantastic, and on a sunny day the views couldn't be better.

400 million year old granite mountains form the most southern part of the Australian mainland.  It is a mystical place, untouched by man.

A hush fills the air (is this possible) as I walk in bushland behind the dunes that separate lakes from the sea.  There is the distant murmur of waves breaking and the quiet sounds of birds and my footsteps, as I come upon beautiful flowers.  Lakes Entrance (where enormous freshwater lakes have been opened to the sea) is home to a fishing fleet and is one of my favorite places.  Looking out over a pristine sea that stretches unbroken to Antarctica is a lifesavers hut, that lies unused because they can't get insurance to climb the ladder to gain entrance:  yes the world has gone insane.
