Getting from A to B in Antarctica mainly involved the
use of: Ships, Amphibious Vehicles (Larc's) and, Helicopters.
Well, that pretty much covers the Land, Sea & Air. Oh! One form
of transport that no longer exists are the ever faithful Huskies. We were lucky
to have them back then.
Cold steeled Nanok "S" returns to Mawson She encountered a
blizzard.
Now for a word of warning !!! You may tire of seeing the Larc V's. haha
However, if not for them many pics would not be here for you to view. including
the aerial shots because we "Larcies" and the "Flyboys"
formed a close relationship.
I am not about to define where or why every shot was taken.
Enough talk !! The following pics are taken "of" or
"from" some form of transport.

Greg
Hardie gives us a wave as we cruise down Port Phillip Bay towards Queenscliff.
Training for duties in Antarctica were mainly undertaken in Melbourne.
2
lonely Adelie penguins meander across the sea ice with Nanok "S"
in background.

Liz & Dave Parer prepare for Sir Henry Mawson re-enactment.
